    Sounds like a good idea, obviously one would have to pay for the full lyrics, let's say $0.01.

    You could search for a lyric, and the result would be a list of matching songs, when you select a song, it gives you Artist, Album & Song Name, plus a sample of the lyrics (say one verse and the chorus). Also the option to buy the song if it's not in you iTunes library.

    I know the recording industry are a resistant and mercenary group of individuals, but how much $$$ would they want for just the lyrics, considering you have bought the song already?

    Send feedback to apple, and ask for royalties if they ever implement it, you never know!

    my ibook still thinks that the earphones are plugged in, and therefore it won't use it's built in speakers even when i unplug the line of the earphones. i check the system preferences, and it's options are only: "headphones: built in audio." this is annoying!

    Did the speakers work before? Have you always left your headphones in. Are you sure you dont have them muted?

    I have the Panasonic TM900 with 5.1 sound. DH is right of course, any wind or sounds further away are just that.

    In terms of editing, I used Clipwrap to unrwap them into prores and there's 4 audio tracks in FCP. I haven't even installed the Panasonic included software nor have I had time to really sort it out. I will be soon though b/c my card is start to fill up so the need is there :)

    In terms of optics, it's a great camcorder. Great footage thus far.

    The NX bit in AMD K8 CPUs and Execute Disable bit in Intel CPUs are there to prevent buffer overflow exploits.

    http://www.intel.com/business/bss/infrastructure/security/xdbit.htm

    Thank you for the link! :)

    So it says it's on the Pentium 4 line, and I'm assuming it's on the Pentium M as well? Is it on current Celerons?

    Interesting that it is not supported by the latest Win2k. I guess that actually is one of the first relevant reasons to upgrade to XP! :eek: :o

    I was a sophomore in HS. As our English teacher came in the class he said something like like the towers have gone down and something about people gathered around the radio and listening (the school year has just started so I wasn't paying any particular attention to what teacher was saying) Then At my last class, which was music, as I enter the room there was a radio on. Teacher has told us that the WTC in down, and you could hear the disbelieve and shock in the radio announcers voice. He has also told us that TV and phone lines are down; which were not. Oh, I forgot, I went to HS in Queens, NY. Any how this is when I was finally able to put the things together.

    There was a guy in my school who was from Middle East and he had to skip school for some time because some people have threatened him. There a lot racism going on in the city, business destroyed people attacked and all because of their race.

    My mom was in Manhattan, and since all the bridges and tunnels were closed, she had to walk over the bridge - as many others - to Brooklyn from where she took a bus home.

    Wondering if the MB138LL/A Mini with C2D 1.83 and 1gb of Ram will handle 720p videos. I have ripped many of my movies to mkv files and I am worried that the GMA built on Video card will cause me issues. Some of my files range from 1.56gb to 4.6gb in size. I pick up the machine on the weekend so any help woudld be appreciated.

    Thanks

    Why don't they just put a HDMI socket on a Mac Mini? This would let you use Front Row on your flat screen TV, this gives you the option of DVD's, USB TV cards (and video recording), etc

    1) The mini is 2x as expensive as iTV
    2) The mini would cost even more with HDMI (at least right now)
    3) A lot of consumers just want the simplicity of a set-top box.
    4) Others don't want to waste the power of a full computer just as a media center.

    My colleague has one and I have to say that I am impressed by the Zune. It's as good, if not better than any portable media player on the market and I loved the brown shell. The problem is that Microsoft doesn't know how to play from behind the competition, especially with a device that only serves one purpose and can't really be improved enough to catch people's attention. It was a silly decision to jump in the market so late in the game. Apple's market share in this sector was insurmountable.

    I would take my iPod and Mac to the Apple store, but my warranty is out. It's been out for a long time too. And yes, I am using the Last.fm Scrobbler.

    This is the likely source of your problem. The last.fm scrobbler doesn't deal particularly well larger libraries and larger capacity iPods. When you plug in your iPod the scrobbler will attempt to scrobble your plays from the iPod. While it does this, it completely freezes iTunes. If you open up Activity Monitor, you will see iTunes using 100% of your CPU resources on one of your cores. I have a 3 GHz MacPro and it freezes my iTunes for 2-5 minutes. iTunes is not multi-threaded, so it will only use one core/thread.

    There is a temporary solution involving the deletion of one of the last.fm scrobbler logs. I'll see if I can find it. You could turn off iPod scrobbling, which will solve the problem. You may also want to try a different scrobbler. Unfortunately, it's probably an annoyance you'll have to live with if you want to scrobble.

    I could be wrong here, but I believe for selector to work you have to at least declare an incoming object:

    - (void)pumpdoubletap:(id) sender {
    progbm.progress -=0.1;
    }

    Speaking for arn, yes, we absolutely want to be notified if things aren't working for you. The best thing you can do is continue to provide screenshots of the page - a picture is worth a thousand words. ;)

    I just checked IE 5.0 in OS 9 and I didn't see what you described, only the tab issue you already alerted us about. IE 5.1.7 has the tabs right and it shows the left and right columns.

    MacRAND-
    That's due to the large image embedded in sonofslim's post.
