You arrive at 288 by multiplying 48/2 * (9+3), but that is assuming multiplication is the implied operator.
The way the equation is written, this question simply does not make sense. Parenthesis or something similar are needed to make this equation solvable.
You say you are fluent in mathematics, etc, but fluency requires proper syntax, which the equation simply does not have. If a professional gave me this problem to solve I would call them an idiot.
Multiplication is always the implied operator for an equation in that form. If it is something other the multiplication is must be specified. 2*2=(2)(2).

Apple could do themselves a lot of favours if they came out with an offical statement, explaining what iOS does in regards of user tracking ( i.e, location database ). Some 1 line email response fired off by SJ doesn't do much good.
Once again, Apple fall down in terms of customer relations / communications. If Apple handled this correctly then all the fuss could go away in a couple days.
It's just a simple answer to a dumb question.

You can burn Lion already. In LionDeveloperPreview2/Contents/SharedSupport burn the "InstallESD.dmg" to a single layer DVD or a USB drive/stick.

What was hard about previous installations ? Pop CD in, run upgrade. Same process.

Somehow "Archive and Install" didn't carry over any issues with a 10.X upgrade whereas I noticed that some upgrades over a previous OS or using your last "Time Machine" backup carry over or create issues. I'd rather erase the drive, install a clean OS, then copy over only necessary documents and reinstall important programs manually (and port over the plist's from the previous OS in a "Time Machine" backup restore point folder).

I don't think I've hated any company so passionately as I hate Verizon. I have not one positive word to say about them. If/when Apple announces a phone, I'll pay the early termination fee on my Verizon contract and jump to the carrier with Apple's phone. Hopefully that'll be Cingular.

Years ago, you had to pay for developer tools for any platform. Nobody jumped up and down complaining it should be free. So now the fee has moved from the tools to the developer program. $99 is the cost to develop apps for the iPhone. Deal with it.
